The Warning Signs Your Dryer Is Becoming a Fire Risk
Clothes taking longer than one cycle to fully dry. The most common early indicator of restricted airflow. Every additional minute the machine runs to compensate is a minute of additional heat exposure to whatever lint is accumulated in the duct.
The dryer or laundry room is unusually hot after a cycle. A properly vented dryer exhausts the heat it generates. A restricted dryer traps it. If the room is noticeably warm after a cycle, or the outside of the dryer cabinet is hot to the touch, the vent system is not adequately clearing the heat.
